Haralambi Mavrolefterou, also known as Harry Mavro, is a film composer and multi-instrumentalist based in Sydney, Australia, His work explores the space between neo-classical and alternative music.
Drawn to stillness and emotional honesty, Harry’s compositions lean into minimalism — often unfolding slowly, letting small gestures and fragile ideas carry weight. His writing is shaped more by instinct than structure, often allowing space for silence, texture, and unexpected imperfections to guide the music forward. Whether writing for film or personal projects, he is always searching for something that feels real — something that meets the listener where they are.
A graduate of the Australian Institute of Music, Harry has collaborated closely with directors Dylan Poihipi and Brendan Dwyer. Their first short film together, LOVE IS DEAD, began a creative partnership that has continued across works like THE QUESTION FROM ABOVE and new projects now in development. Across each collaboration, Harry brings a grounded, patient approach to scoring, blending orchestral writing with processed textures and meditative pacing.
Influenced by artists like Arvo Pärt, Max Richter, Jóhann Jóhannsson, Jon Hopkins, and Henryk Górecki, Harry’s music often sits somewhere outside of genre — reaching for something quieter, more human, more lasting. He is currently composing his debut album, a body of work shaped by years of reflection, searching, and stillness. His music doesn’t demand attention; it creates space. Space to reflect, to breathe, to feel.
In the coming year, Harry will continue his collaborations with Dylan Poihipi, Brendan Dwyer, and director Benjamin Sen, scoring new short and feature-length films that share his belief in storytelling through sound.
